November General Election
Nov 3, 2026Cook Political Report and Sabato's Crystal Ball both rate TX-34 a Tossup, the most-watched Rio Grande Valley district for the national Latino voting-trend story. The 2025 redistricting left the district roughly Trump+10 on the new lines, a Republican tilt that Democratic incumbent Vicente Gonzalez's name recognition has so far kept competitive against Republican challenger Eric Flores. No independent general-election poll of TX-34 has been published. The only surveys are Republican internal polls: an NRCC-commissioned poll in late April had Flores ahead 41 to 40, and a mid-June poll by Ragnar Research, reported by the Ellis Insight newsletter, had Flores up 44 to 41. Internal polls favor their sponsors, so these numbers are worth watching but should not be read as a neutral measure of the race.
